Description
Spam, eggs and rice come together to make this delicious comfort food meal that’s ready in no more than 15 minutes!
Ingredients
Scale
- Classic SPAM
- Japanese rice
- 1:1 ratio of soy sauce and sugar
- furikake
Instructions
- First make sure your rice is cooked ahead of time because the spam and eggs cook very quickly.
- Cut the spam into ¼ inch slices. 1 can is enough to feed 2 – 3 people. Heat the spam over medium-high heat in a nonstick pan for about 1 minute. Add an equal ratio of soy sauce and sugar once the spam is slightly browned. The amount of seasoning will vary depending on how many slices you cook, but it should be about 1 tbsp of soy sauce and 1 tbsp of sugar for half a can. Continue to cook the spam on both sides until the glaze thickens. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- Clean the glaze from the pan with a wet paper towel, or use a new pan to cook the eggs however you like. I love to eat it scrambled or sunny side up.
- Add white rice to a bowl and season it with furikake, then top with the spam and eggs. Enjoy!
